According to style coach Samantha Dawn, fun bold prints and statement accessories are trending for tropical destinations in 2025. Think of crochet bags, matching sets, sarong and wedges when it comes to leisure activities.
"In 2025, tropical vacation style is all about bold statement prints — think oversized florals and lush botanicals — balanced by soft pastels like buttercream yellow and powder blue. Maxi dresses, chic matching sets and elevated one-piece swimsuits (with structured details, cutouts, or sculptural silhouettes) are must-haves," shares CEO of Be Styled Co. Blair Moore.
Some of the accessories to look out for include beaded handbags, raffia textures and pearl-inspired jewelry.
What to pack on a tropical vacation
If you're feeling panicked when packing, make a list of the essentials and activities you will do during your vacation.
"Packing smart means choosing versatile pieces that transition seamlessly from beachside lounging to sunset cocktails," says Moore.
Here are her go-to essentials when packing for paradise:
Fabrication is also important when traveling to a warmer climate. "You want breathable clothing, so double-check your materials. Cotton, linen or bamboo are the top materials I consider for the most breathable clothing. You don’t want to trap heat in your clothes causing you to sweat more," says Dawn.
"Also, shoes are a missed opportunity — you need a tennis shoe, an elevated sandal and even swim shoes for any excursions," adds Dawn.
