Meredith Gaudreau, the widow of NHL star Johnny Gaudreau, announced she has welcomed a baby boy who "looks exactly like his daddy," seven months after Johnny Gaudreau's tragic death.
In an Instagram post on April 7, Meredith Gaudreau shared that she gave birth to the couple's third child, Carter Michael Gaudreau, on April 1. She posted a series of cute photos of her with her baby boy and two older children.

"He looks exactly like his daddy too 🥰."
She shared her joy over adding another member of the family.
"I love you so much my baby!" she wrote. "We are going to have so much fun. I can’t wait to give you the best life, my special boy forever."
Hockey fans, Gaudreau's former teammates and the family celebrated the news.
"Congratulations! Carter is beautiful ❤️" the Calgary Flames official Instagram account commented.

Meredith Gaudreau revealed at her husband's eulogy in September 2024 that she was pregnant with their third child, already being parents to daughter Noa, 2, and 1-year-old son, John.
“John, I had the best six months as a family of four," she said in her eulogy. "Those will forever be the best six months of my life. There’s specifically one week that I will cherish forever and will be my favorite week of my life.”
Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and his brother, Matthew, 29, were pronounced dead at the scene on Aug. 29, 2024, after they were hit by an alleged drunk driver while riding their bikes in their New Jersey hometown, according to NBC Philadelphia.
Johnny Gaudreau was a seven-time NHL All-Star between stints with the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets.
Carter is the latest addition to the family since the brothers' deaths. Matthew Gaudreau's widow, Madeline Gaudreau, announced she had given birth to a baby boy, Tripp, in December.
The arrival of the two baby boys follows a wave of tributes to the Gaudreau brothers in the U.S. and Canada.
They were honored at the Blue Jackets' home opener in October 2024, and Meredith Gaudreau unveiled a tattoo of her husband's signature on her right wrist during an emotional return to Calgary in December 2024. Johnny Gaudreau's Blue Jackets teammates also showed up to celebrate Noa turning two years old in September 2024.
